The Challenge

Our company was in competition with two other web design businesses for the job. However, the client followed her intuition and chose us to design her site. We did not disappoint.

THE LOGO

The client liked her logo until we presented her with a logo design which she liked. This logo became the pivotal point to the overall color theme of the site.

THE WEBSITE

A website update. The client requested three blog portals to differentiate the three areas of the business: Beauty Services, Energy Healing and Sexual Healing. We added an e-commerce element so the online viewer can make payments to services online.

The Solution

We converted the site to a WordPress theme then customized the design, beginning with a logo redesign. We chose the color red as the brand color as it resonated with the client’s preference and her business – the beauty industry.

Red is associated with the 1st chakra and is associated with meanings of love, lust, passion, desire sexuality, sensitivity, romance, joy, strength, leadership, courage, vigor, willpower, rage, anger, danger, stress, action, vibrance, radiance, and determination. It symbolizes action, confidence, and courage. It is linked to the most primitive physical, emotional, and financial needs of survival and self-preservation.

We went on location to shoot photos of the business from the location to the details inside the business to further elaborate the beauty services offered.

The site has three blog portals which the viewer can access from the homepage and the nav bar. Each portal is differentiated by color, making for easy navigation.

We installed a Booking plugin so clients can book appointments online using a credit card. They receive a confirmation note when their appointment is booked.

The Challenge

LOGO

To design a logo based on the client’s tattoo which had significant meaning and personal power for her.

WEBSITE

This website promotes a yoga, pilates and dance business. We installed MindBody, a booking platform so the client’s can view, book and buy classes online with a membership.

The Solution

This was an exciting and challenging project. We based the logo design on the client’s cherished tattoo, a symbol that reflected her love of dance and flow. It took many iterations of color to finally choose the right purple that answered to the client’s vision. The logo then became the pivotal point in the web design. We chose a theme that allowed the many classes, schedules and events to be displayed in a simple, easy to follow manner. The Call to Action on the homepage is the Introductory Offer for the new online viewer to try out a membership at an introductory rate.

We incorporated MindBody software to enable booking appointments, classes and scheduling. The Class Schedule page allows the viewer to book classes with specific dates and times. Clients can register and pay for their classes online. A bio of each instructor is also available for the client before signing up for a class.

Most photos were provided by the client which helped to uniquely brand and differentiate the site with the client’s own stamp and align with the client’s own business vision.

The Challenge

A update to an outdated website that provided a focus on the client’s creative work.

The Challenge

WEBSITE

The client, Juno award-winning musician Alpha Yaya Diallo, needed a site in order to provide an online voice to his work as well as showcase and sell his albums. The site had to house the client’s media Press Kits and be bilingual as his tours extended into French-language spoken cities.

LOGO

To design a logo to reflect the client’s African roots and the music he played.

The Solution

LOGO

We started with the logo design to build the site’s anchor. We settled on an African pattern with a font that allowed the expression of the full name without resorting to an “african” cliche or overpowering the site.

WEBSITE

With a modest budget, we chose a WordPress music theme that answered the client’s needs – to portray the showmanship of this musician doing what he loves – playing music. The site’s biographical page can also be read in French. We included video clips showing his musical venues. The CDs are linked to his iTunes account so the viewer can buy his work online.

The Solution

The first design decision was to use the color green from their logo to design the site as it reflects well the nature of the business as well as the client’s personal values. Green symbolizes life, renewal, nature, calmness and energy and is associated with the meaning of growth, harmony, freshness, fertility, and the environment. The main draw on the site is the banner photo on the Homepage which reflects the client’s business – the people that come to them – an optimistic photo of a lone figure walking on a pathway with sun lighting the way.

There are 3 Call to Action buttons: sign up for the newsletter, buying their book and reading their blog. We set up links to sell their book through Friesen Press and Amazon. An email prompt was also created to collect the emails from viewers who sign up for the free workbook.
